[edit]I removed the following para from the article "The name of Lane Cove Road originates from the fact that it was the first road from Ryde to Gordon. Prior to 1890, the village at what is now called Gordon was called Lane Cove. This is a source of some confusion, since Lane Cove Road does not lead towards the present-day suburb ( and local government area ) called Lane Cove, which lies to the east, not north, from Ryde."
This is both unreferenced, and unlikely. The road was most likely not named for the suburb, but after the Lane Cove River itself, which it runs directly to. --Inas66 (talk) 03:15, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
