Apostrophes

[edit]

I've heard that Lands' End dropped the apostrophe from its literature for a time, but later restored its earlier spelling. Does anybody know the history of any spelling changes in the name? Reify-tech (talk) 19:12, 26 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Clothing construction

[edit]

In the 1980's when I used to order from Land's End catalog, the styles of their clothing were classic and contained only natural fibers, which I really liked. When Sears took over, they changed their styles to be

'fashionable' and the fiber content to be blends of synthetic and naturals, or all synthetic. With that change they lost me as a customer, I believe that many other customers felt the same as me, we liked the classic styles and natural fibers of the original clothing. Even the catalog lost it's distinct character when Sears took over. Prior to Sears, the catalog actually carried stories about where the fibers for making the clothing actually came from, like wool from Scotland and the type of sheep. To me the original styles and fibers were what made Land's End so distinctive. 71.82.144.244 (talk) 18:25, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
