Revert of move
[edit]This article was moved without discussion, let alone consensus, to "Land mobile service". A similar move was recently made to Amateur radio, changing it to Amateur service, prompting this response at talk:Amateur radio:
The article was moved to Amateur service without any discussion. This is the wrong title. In the context of a document about radio, referring to the amateur service makes sense, but out of that context it makes no sense. The serving of amateurs? Inexperienced waiters serving at table? This is not the WP:COMMONNAME and out of context makes no obvious sense at all, even to one who has had a licence for 15 years, has taught for the licencing exam, and has studied the literature. Please move it back to Amateur radio. --Nigelj (talk) 14:08, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
I believe that the same principle applies here. There is nothing in the name "Land mobile service" that implies any relationship to radio. And articles should not be renamed (moved) without discussion and consensus on their respective talk pages. I am certainly open to discussion but further moves without discussion, let alone consensus, are unwelcome. Jeh (talk) 17:55, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
