[edit]I just want to point out that Lamar Gant deadliftef over 5 times his bodyweight before 1985. If you go to http://www.powerlifting-ipf.com/ and look under records you will see that Gant has the 56KG world record in the deadlift with 289.5 KG in 1982. Now I am fairly certain (don't have a link on this though) that Gant deadlifted over 5 times his bodyweight for the first time in 1979. Gant was also the first person to total 12 times his bodyweight in 1988 at the hawian record breakers. Also stength expert Terry Todd talks briefly about Lamar Gant in this article -> http://www.powerlifting-journal.com/terrytodd.htm and believes Gant is lifetime drug free.
