Is this the Lakeside, Wisconsin referred to in Neil Gaiman's novel, American Gods?

I am going to go ahead and say that this is not the American Gods' Lakeside. Things I've discovered along the way trying to find it for a roadtrip.

it's south of Rhinelander
near the White Pine River (there is a river by this name in Minnesota, but none in wisconsin (the only river near this name is the Pine River which fits the criteria of being south of rhinelander
it's 20 miles west of Camden (a nonexistent town in Wisconsin (He maybe gets Camden from Crandon a town 28 miles east of Rhinelander))
it's south of Ironwood and Eagle River
It's north of Steven's Point
there are mining towns to the north east of "Lakeside"

Possible thoughts as to the real Lakeside
