Largest Cinema in America Claims
[edit]Interestingly, the local press repeatedly referred to this movie theatre as being the largest/most screens in the U.S. when it expanded to 12 screens in 1987. As discussed in the AfD, I determined that claim to be false, though I do wonder on what basis the claim was made -- there was probably something behind it, I suspect, because in researching the issue I saw chains made competing claims for many things regarding their theatres in the 80s-90s) In fixing up some of the links to the article today, I added a link re the opening of a 14 screen theatre in the L.A. area in 1982. 12 screens was still fairly large in 1987, however.--Milowent (talk) 14:54, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
