Renaming
[edit]I propose a renaming of this article to " Lady 6 Monkey 'War Quechquemitl' ", as this is the form most used by academics.Mhmrodrigues (talk) 18:48, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
I propose a renaming to Six Monkey War Quechquemitl analogous to Eight Deer Jaguar Claw. --2A02:8108:50BF:C694:5420:13DB:29E7:93F8 (talk) 17:19, 26 February 2023 (UTC)

Lady Six Monkey → Six Monkey War Quechquemitl – analogous to Eight Deer Jaguar Claw 2A02:8108:50BF:C694:5420:13DB:29E7:93F8 (talk) 17:21, 26 February 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. BilledMammal (talk) 13:50, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose. Google Scholar results suggest that Lady Six Monkey is the WP:COMMONNAME. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 22:14, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- In that case, should rather Eight Deer Jaguar Claw be renamed (to Lord Eight Deer)? I think this should be consistent. --2A02:8108:50BF:C694:41C5:8AAF:A1C9:6DD0 (talk) 10:22, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- I can't say for sure - I haven't looked at the sources surrounding Eight Deer Jaguar Claw myself - but, while consistency is good to strive for, my personal stance here is that WP:COMMONNAME is the first priority and maintaining consistency is secondary. - Short description is confusing me Chidgk1 (talk) 14:19, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
Checked no qpq needed and expanded enough, fixed one cite above and checked other. Earwig tool found no copyvio. Added a couple of wikilinks and checked with tool no duplicate wikilinks. Read through carefully - is well written. Chidgk1 (talk) 08:53, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
@ModernDayTrilobite: I prefer the first hook as I find ALT1 a little depressing. Can you clarify re short description please? External link not working for me - perhaps remove that section? Also do you want pic in DYK if possible? Chidgk1 (talk) 09:05, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for reviewing! The first hook is my preference as well. I'll remove the external link as well, as I just checked on a new device and it wasn't working for me there either.
- I'm admittedly a little confused about your question re: the short description – to my knowledge, the article doesn't have one at this time (though I now find myself wanting to go in and add one). Could you provide a little more detail on what you're looking for clarification on?
- As for the pic, I have no strong opinion on whether to include one or not. If we do go forward with adding a picture, I think the best choice would be the image from the infobox. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 15:13, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
- The short desc was previously "Iyadzehe" - perhaps someone removed it from Wikidata after I saw it here - anyway the one you just added looks better - I just shortened it slightly. Good to go.
- Great to hear, thank you! Your edit to the short description looks good to me. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 17:10, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

More info re picture?
[edit]I see at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Codex_Zouche-Nuttall_-_Lady_6_Monkey_of_Jaltepec_queen_of_Huachino.png that the description is the same as the caption "Lady 6 Monkey of Jaltepec queen of Huachino"
If anyone knows it would be interesting if the description included info on what she is sitting on/under and holding Chidgk1 (talk) 16:30, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
Names
[edit]Presumably the names in A Memory Called Empire were inspired by these - perhaps worth linking from there? Chidgk1 (talk) 16:36, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
Lede opening
[edit]Lady Six Monkey (Mixtec: Ñuñuu Dzico-Coo-Yodzo; before 1073 – 1101), was...
is opaque, at least it was to me. Not clear if means she she lived before 1073 – 1101... maybe 991 – 1050? She was born sometime before the date range 1073 – 1101? That's what went thru my mind at first. I'd prefer something like
Lady Six Monkey (Mixtec: Ñuñuu Dzico-Coo-Yodzo; born before 1073 – died 1101), was...
It's longer but a lot clearer IMO. However, doing this probably violates some rule somewhere, so I didn't do it, but it would be an improvement I think. Herostratus (talk) 06:16, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
- I did it, and I'm glad. Glad, do you hear me? Glad. Herostratus (talk) 02:34, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, that's right – I intended to reply to this topic when it was first raised, but it appears I forgot. This is a good change, in my opinion; even if there is a rule against it somewhere, it's a minor enough detail that I'm happy to IAR for the sake of clarity. Thanks for pushing it through!
