Title disrepancy

Noatability

The Spencer family has been a well known family of note for several hundred years. Even if The Lady Diana Spencer hadn't married The Prince of Wales they would have been well known. In fact, each of their parents were rather well known as were their own parents.

It should also be noted that she is properly The Lady Sarah McCorquodale as the daughter of an Earl not merely Lady.

According to the website of the charity, http://www.theworkcontinues.org/aboutus/whoswho.asp, there is no president but a board of directors. Sarah McCorquodale is the only one to have a Wikipedia article. Her notability appears to be based on the fact she is related to someone notable. Nuttah68 16:05, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are mistaken. Look again. Right after her name, it says President. And I don't see any problem in her notability being based on her connection to Diana. I doubt if Frances Shand Kydd would have an article if it weren't for the fact that she was Diana's mother. There are lots of short articles at Wikipedia for minor royals or minor peers, some a lot less famous than Lady Sarah and Lady Jane (whom you also speedy-tagged). Based on the number of articles about people of similar or lesser notability that are kept, I do not think these two should be deleted. That said, I won't spend the weekend weeping if they are! The policy on Wikipedia regarding notability is clear in this case. Being related to someone by birth or marriage does not make a person notable themselves, the fact that others have slipped through the net does not make a case for these two people either. If consensus is that being President of a charity is notable fair enough but in Lady Jane's case the article shows no notability in any form. Burkes Peerage covers who with a title is related to who, I don't believe Wikipedia needs to duplicate that. Nuttah68 07:37, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With the same shock of red hair and stubborn natures, it was inevitable that the two would often be at loggerheads.

References for health problems?
