There is no need for a separate forked list article for notable alumni on this page. Neither the page, nor the list of alumni, are overly long and a fork is not appropriate per the guideline cited in the title. I've reverted the edit removing the list and PROD'd the fork. - Support breaking out list of notable people into separate list as shown in List of Ladue Horton Watkins High School people. Breaking out the list makes this article look much cleaner, with more focus on the main subject of the school. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 19:43, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
- Again, the guideline above which clearly states when you do a content fork (and by the way, how it needs to be attributed, which you did not do) trumps your WP:ILIKEIT arguement. And since you've removed the PROD on the list article, Its now at AfD, where it is my educated guess it will be deleted, per the guideline I named in the section title. - Simply, this isn't an matter of an ascetic preference, its a matter of P&G. John from Idegon (talk) 19:50, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
- As a rule the thumb, what is the number of entries on a list before it should be broken out, so that it does not take away from the main focus of the article? Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 23:29, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
- I've heard others say 30-35, but the forking guidelines are based on the size of the article, and this is a short article. Obviously the best solution to the perception that the notables list is too long is to increase the well sourced content in the rest of the article, but with a school the age this one is, that may not be possible.
