"Labeling" is a phrase used in medicine. Should it go under "label"?

Cleanup

[edit]

I cleaned up this disambiguation page per MOS:DAB. But I don't really know what to do with the following info. I am reluctant to move it to Label (telecommunications) because Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a dictionary. I am also reluctant to transwiki it to wiktionary:label because it has some kind of encyclopedic worth. If somebody knows how and where to best integrate this info, go ahead:

In telecommunication

  • An identifier within or attached to a set of data elements.
  • One or more characters that (a) are within or attached to a set of data elements and (b) represent information about the set, including its identification.
  • In communications, information within a message that is used to identify specific system parameters, such as the particular circuit with which the message is associated. Note: Messages that do not relate to call control should not contain a label.
  • In programming languages, an identifier that names a statement. Also an HTML tag.
  • An identifier that indicates the sensitivity of the attached information.
  • For classified information, an identifier that indicates (a) the security level of the attached information or (b) the specific category in which the attached information belongs
