Band member biographical info
[edit]Removed biological information for members Marian Li Pino and Alice Sandahl (sorry guys!) because I don't think that the band member list section is the right place for detailed biographical information for such a short article on the band itself. Perhaps this could be worked into the history section? Either way, I think accolades and other current projects for these artists (such as Kairos for Lena Simon) maybe shouldn't be listed on this page, at least in its current form.
La Luz Primary Topic
[edit]I think La Luz (band) has a good argument for being the primary topic for La Luz, especially considering usage. Currently the redirect points to La Luz, New Mexico, which is a small CDP of 2,000 people. Google search clearly favors the band, and Google news archive searches are mixed, mostly due to a recent crime occurring at a trailhead in New Mexico near the CDP (otherwise, the all-time results heavily favor the band). However, I think due to the band being currently active, the argument for the CDP being primary topic due to long-term significance has some merit as well. I'd just as soon leave the band on the disambiguation page for now.--Shark2000br (talk) 15:44, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
I am taking a first stab at an article for this band. Please feel free to add to it, especially original photos as needed.
I am leaving this page as a placeholder for the actual page, in case it needs to be moved.--Shark2000br (talk) 03:10, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because the subject meets notability criteria #1 under WP:Band, having been the subject of multiple reviews in multiple media outlets and having toured on national and internationally. This is made clear in the reference to multiple positive reviews.
Reference formatting
[edit]Congratulations to the band on all your great press. Perhaps in the haste to protect the article from deletion, whoever referenced several of the press links didn't follow reference format, leaving a lot of URLs in the reference list (I fixed these). This article would be strengthened with proper formatting. Use this as a template for online referencing (take out (sample) in all instances in yours--it's only in place here so Wikipedia won't read it like code):
<(sample)ref>Ratliff, Ben (August 7, 2015) "New Releases From La Luz, Chelsea Wolfe and Ossia," The New York Times. Retrieved on May 21, 2016.<(sample)/ref>
If you need to use multiple references to the same article, try this as a template:
Content that needs a footnote.<(sample)ref name="reference name (you name it)">[insert reference URL information using template above here]<(sample)/ref>
Thereafter, throughout the article, use that <(sample)ref name="name"> and <(sample)ref name="name" /> end tag each time you reference the same article.
Sample: This is page content.<(sample)ref name=manchester2002>LibreOffice for Starters, First Edition, Flexible Minds, Manchester, 2002, p. 18<(sample)/ref> This is more content.<(sample)ref name=manchester2002 />
I hope this helps! Good to see a decent start article on a great band. --Utilizer (talk) 00:44, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
