Commercial advertising

Sounds like a Corporate Prospectus to me:

Isn't this article something you would hand out at a yearly Stockholders' meeting? If you are doing research on a business, do you really need to know Corporate Sponsorships? Interesting stuff I suppose, but not really encyclopedic material. Also, the Awards section sounds like a rah-rah session at a Staff meeting. Should these headings be edited? No, I believe they should be dumped. Possibly replacing these with a new heading such as LG's environmental standings, or one that would expand on their product line and how LG is truly the "New Apple". Unfortunately, as this article stands now, this is Corporate Advertising at it's finest. Venetian Isle (talk) 05:09, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Sounds like advertising to me:

"Since the start of the 21st century, LG Electronics saw a tremendous rate of growth, especially from 2006, where the company's mobile phone division, LG Mobile, began to properly 'take off' with the hugely popular LG Chocolate phone"

etc.

needs editing

digital TV Tuners

An issue to consider for a "Controversy" section:

In early 2007, Australia's 'The Age' newspaper reported that many LG devices containing digital TV tuners contained a glitch that would cause them to "freeze". but, two days later, LG fixed this problem. Television manufacturer LG has released a software upgrade to fix a glitch in some of its televisions which causes them to freeze when watching Australia's Nine Network.

Digital this and that

Digital vacuum cleaners!?! Digital compressors!?! Digital Washing Machines. Nonsense. This entire article reads like and advertisement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.1.163.86 (talk) 12:43, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

NBC Universal

dosn't it also have some connection with NBC Universal? XU-engineer 23:31, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject class rating

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 14:54, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

LG acronym

The definition of the LG acronym on this page is not coherant with the definition given on the "LG Group" page. 65.216.235.42 (talk) 18:06, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

It is a common knowledge in Korea that the acronym "LG" is from "Lucky Geumsung(or Goldstar)" as mentioned in the "LG Group" page. The information on this entry is faulty. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tdodpou (talkcontribs) 02:16, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Termonology

Is it me, or is the use of the word 'biggest' in the introduction seem a little... boring? I've seen largest used more often - even in the rest of this article. JPP355 (talk) 15:33, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Lucky Goldstar

I don't think it would be too forward to say that "Lucky Goldstar" would not play well in the English speaking world, and the substitution, "Life's Good" doesn't really cut it either. I think just the simple acronym "LG" was a very wise decision. If someone could find a reference to the company's own perspective on the corporate name, I think it would be well worth including in the article.Landroo (talk) 02:50, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

I agree, but I also think that the company wanted to move away from the image that Goldstar had endeared on most of it's North American consumer base; that of a manufacturer of low-end microwaves, room air conditioners, televisions and computer monitors. Going from low to high-end products, as LG did, I don't believe would have been possible under the Lucky or Goldstar branding. Venetian Isle (talk) 05:09, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

2nd and 3rd

LG Electronics (Korean: LG전자, KRX: 066570, LSE: LGLD) is the world's second-largest manufacturer of televisions[1] and third-largest producer of mobile phones.[2]

I know this page is about LG, and not any other company, but would it be out of line or against wiki policy to mention the top rungs of this ladder? This never occured until I got on this page, and my friend said something. Sorry if this is a moronic question, I shall go crawl into a deep, dark hole now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by FXSTSB (talkcontribs) 09:27, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Controversy Section

Is there a good reason for cutting down the controversy section from what it was in http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=LG_Electronics&oldid=340539283 ? At the least it seems a mention of the wacky Bluebirds software would be in order, based on notability alone. elcyberGoth (talk) 20:29, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism ?

In the middle of the history section there is this sentence:

A more appropriate acronym is Laughable Garbage

Seems to be vandalism, also does not cite any reference. I will remove it.

'Other' section

The 'Other' section needs a reference. It seems to be somebodies own research. Dylan (talk) 23:12, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Errors on LG Indian site

How to tell LG that they have made a blunder on their website (washing machines: see the wikipedia article). Their contact policy on their site is ridiculous -59.95.39.125 (talk) 05:57, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

First it was:

Stainless Steel Cavity

Stainless Steel Cavity enables better reflection and uniformity of heating inside the cavity for better even cooking. This cavity does not peel off unlike in coated cavities wherein the continuous rubbing of the turntable deteriorates and eventually peels off the coating exposing the base material.

After informing them, they have now replaced it with this one (see it for yourself): [1]

Stainless Steel Tub

Durable at the core the stainless steel tub in this Dish Washer is more durable than plastic, and repels stains and odors.

This is a comedy of errors! -59.95.19.36 (talk) 14:36, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

They've changed it now. -59.95.9.36 (talk) 09:29, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
