Commercial advertising

Sounds like a Corporate Prospectus to me:

Isn't this article something you would hand out at a yearly Stockholders' meeting? If you are doing research on a business, do you really need to know Corporate Sponsorships? Interesting stuff I suppose, but not really encyclopedic material. Also, the Awards section sounds like a rah-rah session at a Staff meeting. Should these headings be edited? No, I believe they should be dumped. Possibly replacing these with a new heading such as LG's environmental standings, or one that would expand on their product line and how LG is truly the "New Apple". digital TV Tuners

An issue to consider for a "Controversy" section:

In early 2007, Australia's 'The Age' newspaper reported that many LG devices containing digital TV tuners contained a glitch that would cause them to "freeze". but, two days later, LG fixed this problem. Television manufacturer LG has released a software upgrade to fix a glitch in some of its televisions which causes them to freeze when watching Australia's Nine Network.

LG acronym

Termonology

Is it me, or is the use of the word 'biggest' in the introduction seem a little... boring? I've seen largest used more often - even in the rest of this article. JPP355 (talk) 15:33, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Lucky Goldstar

I don't think it would be too forward to say that "Lucky Goldstar" would not play well in the English speaking world, and the substitution, "Life's Good" doesn't really cut it either. I think just the simple acronym "LG" was a very wise decision. If someone could find a reference to the company's own perspective on the corporate name, I think it would be well worth including in the article.Landroo (talk) 02:50, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

I agree, but I also think that the company wanted to move away from the image that Goldstar had endeared on most of it's North American consumer base; that of a manufacturer of low-end microwaves, room air conditioners, televisions and computer monitors. Going from low to high-end products, as LG did, I don't believe would have been possible under the Lucky or Goldstar branding. Venetian Isle (talk) 05:09, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

I know this page is about LG, and not any other company, but would it be out of line or against wiki policy to mention the top rungs of this ladder? This never occured until I got on this page, and my friend said something. Is there a good reason for cutting down the controversy section from what it was in http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=LG_Electronics&oldid=340539283 ? Errors on LG Indian site
