Notability

[edit]

This article is in MAJOR need of sources. I understand that he may have been very important, but when the article was created it did not establish that. I will not re-add the speedy tag; the article is being improved, although sources are really needed. Also, please not that the primary author of an article is NOT supposed to remove the speedy deletion tag. I hope that this article can be improved greatly; for now I'll add in appropriate cleanup tags instead of speedy deletion. -Drilnoth (talk) 03:23, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from the use of all capital letters. Sources are provided in two languages. Please behave in a calm, collected manner and do not needlessly harass long-time editors; thank you for your consideration. It is very important to document the major Chinese composers of the early 20th century, and, as the sources show, this individual is one of the top three or four. Fair enough. I would recommend making the sources into citations, rather than being listed in external links. My apologies for any inconvenience; as I said, I think that the speedy tag made sense at the time I originally added it, although it is no longer accurate. Also, I am calm; I am simply trying to help build a logical encyclopedia, the same way as yourself, and made a simple mistake. -Drilnoth (talk) 03:30, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, as a suggestion for article improvement, if you can find an article on Lü Ji in another language wiki (Chinese would probably have one) that would be good because then material could be translated from one to the other. -Drilnoth (talk) 03:34, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We aim for continuous improvement. This subject area is not well documented in English, and most sources are probably in print rather than the Internet, as old things (even pre-1949) are not a subject of great interest for the "Internet generation" in China, which is primarily focused on pop culture, and consequently there's also not much on the Chinese-language Internet. Badagnani (talk) 03:47, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's true. Anyway, I wish you well; it'll be nice to see more coverage of other countries and their people. -Drilnoth (talk) 13:15, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm very sure Lü Ji is notable! The Encyclopedia of China has the article 呂驥. --Bing Haik (talk) 08:15, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
