@Victuallers: There is a problem with mentioning "Republic of China" in the lead. It normally refers to Taiwan, not the area covered by the People's Republic which was in fact only established in 1949. Maybe you should just say "in China" or "in mainland China"? I realize the reference says "Republic of China" but this is incorrect.--Ipigott (talk) 08:05, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

@Ipigott and Victuallers: Republic of China is correct in this context, while mainland China is a concept that came into use only after the Republic of China moved to Taiwan in 1949, and therefore anachronistic. @Zanhe: Thanks - I thought it was a time thing. Could you help with the concept of job titles as she is called "the editor" but then she has a boss who is also an editor. I suspect she was what I would called a sub-editor. I don't think I can dyk this until I solve/fudge this. Do you know why our other collaborations seemed to have stalled at DYK? @Victuallers: Her boss was actually Ying Lianzhi, the famous founder of Ta Kung Pao who was said to be romantically attracted to her. The Women of China article is quite sloppily written and got his name wrong. She was definitely the editor, not a sub-editor. I've been a bit busy with other stuff lately, and will try to work on it in the next day or two. And I don't really think the other articles are stalled, it's normal for DYK nominations to spend weeks before getting reviewed. -Zanhe (talk) 08:08, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

Secretary of who?

She was then chosen to be secretary to one of the most powerful people in China, but when Yuan Shikai set out to declare himself emperor of China she left, like many of his followers, and abandoned him

For me, this isn't totally clear: was she secretary of Yuan Shikai or of someone else? Encycloon (talk) 16:16, 15 December 2018 (UTC)

According to German Wikipedia, it was indeed Yuan Shikai she served. I changed the article a bit to make this clearer. Encycloon (talk) 16:17, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
