1630 and not 1830

[edit]

to: User:Unbuttered Parsnip Dont make any changes or jump into any statement as not true without showing any basis. I was in Lawis for a visit the structure in front of it was a memorial with its inscription that the Kota was built in year 1790. Basing from this then your 1830 edit will be untrue. on the upper hand I read book written during spanish time I found out that the structure was built in 1630 and not in 1790.... So I didn't follow the year 1790 as the founding date of the Kota which was posted by the municipality of Madridejos but the year 1630 as the founding date as narrated by fray Medina. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mateothehistorian (talkcontribs) 04:12, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

inconsistent

[edit]

to: User:Unbuttered Parsnip you changed facts claiming to be wrong but when ask about your basis or reference you are unable to provide. You are inconsistent with your edits, first the 1630 you change to 1830 then now changed it to 1790

Advance warning

[edit]

The page was subject to an edit war on whether Bantayan island was used as an "advanced warning system" or an "advance warning system". The latter is correct: The warning was in advance of an impending danger, it was not an advanced system compared to another simpler system. Huon (talk) 02:37, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

All improvements to the article are reverted by the nominator Mary McAllen who want to have the article deleted. The below version I created was reverted. The version has better references compared to the article at the moment. Also the article is more in line with the WP style guidelines. Please comment what is wrong with this version before adjusting the article again. Sander.v.Ginkel (Talk) 12:56, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The ruins of Kota in Kota Park established by Lazaro Mangubat in 1630.[1]

Gabriel Lazaro Mangubat, also known as Loreto Mangubat and Captian Lazaro Mangubat[2], was a Gobernadorcillo, a Filipino governor, from the 17th-century.[1]

In 1630 Lazaro the Mangubat established the first organised settlement in the northern part of Bantayan in sitio Mancilang, where Madridejos is now located. He was the founder of Lawis (meaning point to the sea).[3] It was also him who proclaimed it a visita (beginnings of a parish) of the town of Bantayan.[4][failed verification]
