Added tour dates for an international tour with Converge, Kylesa and Gaza. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Belemre5 (talk • contribs) 15:42, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

- The article (in a source of unknown reliability) mentions that the band has had airplay on BBC1. A search of the BBC1 website indicates that they had a single airplay (i.e. one song, played once). This doesn't seem like much notability as far as I can tell. The fact that the article was written on the day their debut album was released means it may be too early to tell if this band will become notable or not. - Take it to AfD if it hurts your head. Even if you don't believe the assertions to notability, the fact that the assertions and references are there means this article isn't speediable. - filelakeshoe 19:55, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, the article makes no assertion of notability. It merely states that they are a band, and they've released an album. The provided references verify these facts: they are a band and have released an album. I have not been able to find any reliable sources to indicate that they are notable in any way. I am not going to nominate for deletion at this point because there does seem to be some buzz for this band among the blogosphere, so reliable sources might be found. I'll keep an eye on it to see how it develops. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 11:56, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- I am curious as to what would constitute notability? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Belemre5 (talk • contribs) 12:29, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Please review the guidelines a WP:MUSIC. Basically, significant coverage in reliable sources are the baseline requirement. Bands that have won major national awards, or had a major national tour (not a "support tour") or whose albums have been extensively reviewed, etc. Kvelertak does not appear to have reached this level of coverage yet. Based on the buzz they are receiving, I believe they will, but as they have just released their first album, and have only toured as an opening act or support band, they don't appear to be there yet. In my opinion this is not speediable. The article makes assertions - album released on a notable record label and touring - that indicate that it may well meet the notability requirement. If you really want you can ask another admin for a second opinion... - filelakeshoe 16:55, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Wtf is the big push against removing this band from the internet these days? It almost reeks of conspiracy. They've already been removed from Metal Archives because apparently they're not "metal" enough, now you dorks are trying to remove them from WKP too? What's the matter, kids? Not enough breakdowns? 70.36.17.243 (talk) 19:25, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
- Calm down, this discussion happened 3-4 years ago. They might not have been notable back then, but they're now obviously. Myxomatosis57 (talk) 19:33, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
Pronounciation
[edit]Regardless of the outcome with respect to deletion (I think there should be some sort of probation period for things that have some buzz, but what do I know?), it would be great if someone who speaks good English and Norwegian could add a pronunciation guide/key/etc. A few of my friends (who struggle with their own notability) have asked, how the hell does one pronounce this band's name... and the best we can come up with is, "Kuh-vel-er-talk". -- Joebeone (Talk) 23:59, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
- Go here, type Kvelertak and select Norwegian - Olav. Rettetast (talk) 00:19, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks! --Joebeone (Talk) 14:02, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
They also sceam "Kvelertak" on Ulvetid. I'm norwegian and can assure you that kvelertak is not pronounced "Kuh-vel-er-talk". -- Nørbech

Black 'n' roll?
[edit]Seems like a good genre classification for Kvelertak, extrapolating from "death 'n' roll"... JPuglisi (talk) 18:27, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
