A fact from Kurt Weigelt appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 24 May 2022 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that Nazi war criminal Kurt Weigelt could not be directly employed by Deutsche Bank after World War II, so he reestablished Lufthansa?
How significant was Weigelt's time as a "supporting member of the SS" compared to everything else he did in his life including the resurrection of Lufthansa? Did he kill anyone? Did he order the killing of anyone? Or is he a "war criminal" because the Allies chose to define the SS as a "criminal organization" and define all members of the SS as "war criminals" regardless of their individual actions? For instance, would a member of the SS who participated in Operation Valkyrie be defined as a "war criminal" post-war because they had been a member of the SS? 2603:800C:3944:BC00:BCA8:5330:B9BB:CD21 (talk) 22:19, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
