I removed sentence that TORU caused malfunctions. TORU is not a replacement to KURS, but additional manual remote control mode which is used to override KURS in case of problems. There were no incident attributed to TORU; the incident that happened on June 25, 1997 was attributed to human error and overloading of Progress. See [1] [2]

Kurs-NA

[edit]

It's replacing the Kurs-A system which required five rendezvous antennas, Kurs-NA will require only one, it will also use less power.

Possible rename?

Maybe we should call it "Kurs (docking navigation system)"?--Craigboy (talk) 13:52, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Old Kurs

[edit]

Is the Kiev-Regime owned old Kurs system finally replaced? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.105.76.234 (talk) 08:06, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Kurs is made up of two parts: the Active, which goes into the spacecraft. And the Passive, which goes into the station. The Active has been completely replaced with Kurs-NA. I'm not quite sure about the Passive. -- Baldusi (talk) 13:54, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
