Talk:Kundinapuri

The Wikipedia page for "kundinapuri" has the following comment in the last para: "Kundinapuri, also known as Kundina is identified to be the modern day city of Gondia in Maharashtra state of India."

Do you have the source of the information that suggests Kundinapuri is same as Gondia?

Let me inform that there is a small town in called "Koundinnyapur" in Amravati district of the Indian state of Maharashtra (Off Amravati - Nagpur highway). According to general understanding, Kundinapuri is supposed to be the same as Koundinnyapur in Amravati district. This fact also can be confirmed from the Wikipedia page for Amravati, where following is written in the "Spirituality" section:

"There's a legend that when Lord Krishna ran away with Goddess Rukhamini from her wedding ceremony, he used a tunnel laying from Ambadevi temple to Koundinyapur (another spiritual place near Amravati). This tunnel is still in existence but is now closed. Many research team over the years have tried to investigate about the length of the tunnel but all their efforts were in vain."

It will be useful if the information on the "Kundinapuri" page is re-confirmed. Ashok deshmukh (talk) 12:52, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
