Move page to 'SSLV Launch Complex'?
[edit]In official documents like Annual Reports and tender documents this launch site is referred as 'Small Satellite Launch Vehicle Launch Complex' or 'SSLV Launch Complex' (SLC). [1][2][3]
SSLV Launch Complex- The Indian Launch Vehicle Programme has attained a level of maturity today to launch 4.5 t class of satellites to GTO through GSLV MkIII. To meet the current market demands of small satellite launches, ISRO is developing a new generation launch vehicle called Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) capable of injecting small satellites (up to 500 kg) into 500 km circular Low Earth Orbit. Existing launch pads at SDSC SHAR Viz., First Launch Pad (FLP) and Second Launch Pad (SLP) are lined up for meeting launch demands of PSLV, GSLV & GSLV Mk-III launches, thus realisation of exclusive launch pad for SSLV is inevitable. Proposed SSLV Launch Site will meet the demands of launching SSLV launch vehicle at shorter interval.
(…) The proposed systems will be used as a part of new commanding requirement for Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) Launch Complex (SLC) Site at Kulasekarapatnam, Tamilnadu.
I propose we move this page to 'SSLV Launch Complex' as 'Kulasekarapattinam Spaceport' is just generic name and in no way an official one. Ohsin 12:23, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- Opinion no don't. Fascinating Q but I think not. Please correct me otherwise.
- In 2 of the sources namely the First and the Third , the line clearly states SSLV launch complex, Sriharikota, which I think can be interpreted as the person in charge of building SSLV rockets that will launch from SDSC. In the first source, The topic comes under SDSC, which can be similarly interpreted.
- Also who knows wether Kulasekharapattanam will only host SSLV? Maybe vehcles like Vikram-1 and Agnibaan might also be launched from here, maybe even PSLV.
- But still great job man, your edits are indeed notable RΔ𝚉🌑R-𝕏 (talk) 17:26, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- i belive Kulasekharapattanam, though dedicated as SSLV, will definitely not be the only place from where SSLV will launch and also private players might utilise it ( works vice-versa too I belive) RΔ𝚉🌑R-𝕏 (talk) 17:29, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- Yes SSLV Launch Complex might host private LVs in future as well if these companies survive but documents suggests 'SSLV Launch Complex' is the name of project. Ohsin 12:05, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
- @4-RAZOR 01 In first source it only mentions name of site, second source is a tender and there are numerous such tenders with same information to confirm the name of site and location as Kulasekarapattinam. Third source is a bit badly worded as Madhuri is employed at SDSC-SHAR under which SSLV Launch Complex project falls. No new facility is coming up in Sriharikota to exclusively launch SSLVs. Ohsin 12:03, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
- yeah but though FLP SHAR launched every SSLV so far, that SSLV had to be built somewhere. I am guessing that she might be the incharge of assembling the SSLV at ISRO's VAB or somewhere like that that could be called that. RΔ𝚉🌑R-𝕏 (talk) 12:14, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think we can conclude that kulasekhara pattinam will be the only site for SSLV launches as FLP will remain for a loooong time. As for various tenders , yes a LP will be made at Kulsekharapatinam { gah, i need a shorth form I'll call it KSP } but we cannot say that SSLV is gonna be it's only Rocket that will fly from ksp so no need . I am expecting that in 2026 they will probably rename the Center after someone during the launch ceremony so it like Dr.Bram Prakash Space Center so it won't anyway be called SSLV launch complex. We need concrete proof that that will be the term ISRO will use before any renaming ( like a mention in Somnaths saars speeches or in pm speech or a few refs in new product release in ISRO.gov.in website ) THX. - No one is concluding that though, and we are just talking about the official name of project that is all. SHAR would be used for mid-inclination launches of SSLV as Kulasekarapattinam doesn't seem suitable for those. And it is just a launch complex which falls under SDSC-SHAR which is a space centre. In future it might become a separate centre and might be renamed but that is crystal ball gazing.
- SSLV can be integrated in existing facilities at SHAR like MST and PIF at FLP. Stage preparation has also been done in existing facilities like SVAB etc. And per news report she is Deputy PD of 'SSLV Launch Complex' project. Speeches and verbal quotes are poor references and we already have Govt. documentation with 'SSLV Launch Complex' as official term. Perhaps we can wait for 2024 Annual Report for guidance. - Yes, we cait wait. They will definately give it as a term there. Cheers!👍 RΔ𝚉🌑R-𝕏 (talk) 07:58, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- Here at 13m05s S Somanath refers to it as SSLV Launch Complex. Ohsin 11:42, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
- few more proofs needed. sorry for long time i took a wikibreak RΔ𝚉🌑R-𝕏 (talk) 13:04, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
