Removing the section on the world record
[edit]The section describing the world record shouldn't be in this article. Not only is it not describing Kuchipudi per se, it might not even be notable. I'd like to remove it. PradNelluru

List of practioners abroad
[edit]I removed the following from the list: and Sunitha Pendekanti (in the San Francisco Bay Area) as this is unattributed, there is no record of a person by this name in the SF Bay Area (online sources). If there is, in fact, such a person, please restore the name to the list and add a reference. Mathglot 07:58, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

This article deserves to be improved
[edit]I got introduced to this wonderful art form by the charming film Vanaja, and wanted to read more about it here. In particular, I was intrigued by the pantomime, some of which I understood, but I am sure there must be a rich background of symbolism that escapes the uninitiated. But where I was hoping for an introduction, I had to try and parse sentences like "In its solo exposition Kuchipudi numbers include 'jatiswaram' and 'tillana' whereas in nritya ...", which contain more unexplained technical jargon than helpful explanations. It would be much appreciated if one of the esteemed editors who understand the subject could rewrite these sentences so they can be understood by curious readers such as me. You might consider turning to the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Dance, the people there seem pretty active and will very likely be happy to give some advice.
One thing I would like to change is that there are currently two lists of artists that contain many entries for which no article exists yet. I am not sure why there are two; the second one includes "SNA Awardees", but there is no explanation what "SNA" stands for. (I also checked our page SNA, but to no avail.) I understand that the many red links in such a list may serve as a reminder to write articles about these artists, but there are simply too many. I looked at some of the best dance articles, and none of them has such a list, but I don't want to be so radical. If nobody objects, I will simply move all entries that don't have an article here on this talk page, so they're still easily accessible to other editors, but will not distract the normal reader to whom they are of no use. — Sebastian 08:19, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
Lists
[edit]This article is about the dance form, hence Im moving lists of exponents/awardees here - probably best to move them to a new list article. Around The Globeसत्यमेव जयते 09:33, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
