General unreliability of the article

[edit]

There is no such caste as "Utkal Rajput", neither any evidence of the same has been provided to make the claim. The princely states mentioned here are of Rajputs with history of immigration into Odisha. This page makes no sense overall. Solarson919 (talk) 08:42, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. The entire thing is a POV fork, probably encouraged by the caste association named in it. Caste associations aren't reliable for anything that matters, there is a general consensus that the four-fold varna system did not exist in the area, and we already have an article for Rajputs. I have redirected it but, being on mobile, cannot be sure I have entirely emptied the article before doing so. - Sitush (talk) 10:19, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

One odiahistory guy has been constantly harassing me over this, accusing me of peddling some caste glorification agenda. Please look into it. I'll be obliged. Solarson919 (talk) 13:52, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How did you conclude that maharaja krushna Chandra Gajapati is rajput? Give evidence. They are ganga vanshi kings , and it is well know. Parala royal family has said about this a lot of times. Don't screw with us tribals Bibhu Nandan (talk) 06:01, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

All Rajputs not equal to Kshatriya

[edit]

Please go through the links

Both of the groups are clearly distinguished as per academic sources, so all Odia Kshatriyas cannot be equated with Rajputs. Kindly go through the subsets of the topics and keep the article factual and free from any caste related POV & related bias. Lancepark (talk)

All Rajputs are not Kshatriya it is right but a Kshatriya can be a Rajput. The Kshatriyas of Odisha claimed Rajput status, like Karans of Odisha claims as Kayastha, Goudas claims Ahir, Barikas are Nai etc. Anand Singh Deo (talk) 10:06, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

See my note in the opening section of this page. - Sitush (talk) 10:20, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
