Name
[edit]Ksenia Pervak has changed her name to Xeniya Pervak. Title change please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Popsiclesare (talk • contribs) 01:16, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]Ksenia Pervak → Xeniya Pervak – I presume the user above is requesting a page move. I don't know much about the subject, just that it seems that she no longer represents Russia (now Kazakhstan) and the WTA have changed her page to reflect the new spelling (transliteration) of her name. - Move - The ITF also spells her name Xeniya Pervak. Fyunck(click) (talk) 21:02, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
- Comment - Yes. Just do it. MakeSense64 (talk) 06:46, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
Done I just went ahead and did it. Seemed a no-brainer that would waste admin time. Fyunck(click) (talk) 07:33, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
Change it back. Refer to exact same link, please. 68.48.132.133 (talk) 03:53, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
- The WTA link has changed it back and forth now. ITF has it Xeniya as does the Daily Telegraph news source. Fyunck(click) (talk) 06:28, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
Please change it to the correct name, "Ksenia," as evidenced by the WTA page as referenced above, and the draws of every tournament so far this year, including the current Australian Open (http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/scores/draws/ws/wsdraw.pdf), run by the ITF you hold so highly. I know "Xeniya" looks cooler and is more interesting, but it's over. 68.48.132.133 (talk) 05:19, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
- No need to get snotty. The WTA has switched back and forth on the name. The ITF uses Xeniya. The press as noted is using both. The two tournaments this year appear to be using Ksenia. Could they have failed to realize she changed her name? Did she change it back to Ksenia? We are not sure. FedCup is using Xeniya at this link. Before moving to Ksenia I'd like to see a little more proof... that's all. The Aussie Open article should certainly use Ksenia since that's what the actual tournament is using, but if her English name is really Xeniya then that's what her article should read. - Oppose As reliable sites like ITF, Fed Cup, ESPN, Australian Open, WTA, etc changed back to Ksenia. I think there was just a misunderstanding.♫GoP♫TCN 15:24, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe. The WTA, ITF and Fed Cup all used Xeniya a week ago. The WTA changed it back to Ksenia and I contacted the WTA 3 days ago to find out what was going on. They simple told me that they now had it correct and that their offices had contacted the ITF and Fed Cup offices about it. Yesterday the ITF and Fed Cup websites had changed back the Ksenia also. Who knows what's going on but the bottom line is the 2 major orgs of WTA and ITF both now use Ksenia Pervak so it has been moved to that name. Fyunck(click) (talk) 19:39, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
