Notability
[edit]There are several journals featured on wikipedia with lower Journal Ranking than Kriterion. Examples include Philosophia Christi, Philosophia Reformata och Augustinian Studies. Se this link. If these are notable, then Kriterion is notable.--Politikuserna (talk) 20:54, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
- Please see WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS. Thanks. --Randykitty (talk) 22:09, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
- I added that the journal has featured original articles by several prominent philosophers. This should increase notability.--Politikuserna (talk) 23:29, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
- No, it doesn't: see WP:NOTINHERITED. What we need is sources about the journal, not sources published by the journal. Lists of contributors are routinely deleted from journal articles for this reason (see also our journal article writing guide for this and tips to improve an article). --Randykitty (talk) 06:53, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- Okey, I see. But you link says that "if a journal is indexed in a selective database, or has an impact factor, this will be enough to establish notability". Kriterion is indexed in several selective databases as far as I understand!--Politikuserna (talk) 07:31, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- I don't see any selective databases. The Philosopher's Index strives to be comprehensive and neither ERIH nor EBSCO are very selective. --Randykitty (talk) 07:54, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- This seems to be a ranking that is equivalent to impact factor: [1]. I will add it to the article. Does that establish notability?--Politikuserna (talk) 10:11, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- SCImago is not equivalent to the IF and we don't add it to journal articles. However, if it is in SCImago, that means that it is also in Scopus and that fulfils WP:NJournals. I'll check this and add it with a reference to the article and then remove the tag. --Randykitty (talk) 10:18, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- I saw that you have already done it. Thank you for your support!--Politikuserna (talk) 10:24, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
