Advice on extlinks
[edit]Generally, you shouldn't have external links in the main body of an article. It's OK to leave something as a red link (e.g. Black Mountain Institute) if it's a notable topic. When someone writes an article for it, it will be linked automatically, and until then the red link acts as a hint to other interested editors that the article is needed. If the topic isn't individually notable (e.g. each of the subject's books), don't link them. You can leave a link to her publisher in the external links section, but not in the body. pburka (talk) 00:10, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
We must preserve Marvin at all costs
[edit]Lads, if anybody dares take down the “Marvin” section, they will be met with a fire of a scale not yet seen in this world.

Writer v author
[edit]The category name is writer. It makes sense to use writer to describe people in the body of the article as well.John Pack Lambert (talk) 13:45, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- According to the biography, she writes novels, stories and essays, and the lead says she's an "author and essayist". An essayist is a kind of writer, so "writer and essayist" doesn't make sense. We could say "novelist, short story writer and essayist", if you want to be more verbose and precise. pburka (talk) 14:15, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
