Missing info
[edit]There is no coverage of Georgieva's early life before attending college, so I removed that from the section heading for now. Other important details, such as the languages used/preferred by her, are missing. Georgieva was probably married at least twice, but this needs to be documented from a WP:RS. Is she a Bulgarian politician?
[edit]She could hardly be called "Bulgarian politician" because she did not have any political job, role or function in Bulgaria before she was nominated for EU Commissioner.--212.73.146.73 (talk) 22:59, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
- If she didn't run for elective office but was appointed to her positions, she would be better described as an "administrator" rather than "politician". Reify-tech (talk) 23:06, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
GERB membership
[edit]I think this info may be wrong. She is clearly associated with GERB (Bulgarian party) and has said herself that she "sympathizes" but also that she has "not discussed membership" (Check out this radio interview from 2010: Кристалина Георгиева: Симпатизирам на ГЕРБ, но не съм обсъждала членство). GERB clearly also likes to associate with her, a leader of international importance, and it is very easy to subconsciously make the conclusion that she is a member when reading Bulgarian press. There is even one FT article that describes her as such: "The socialist party wanted to block her because she is a member of the centre-right Gerb party." FT are not known for sloppiness, but I think this one was a mistake. I couldn't find any other serious source saying she is a member but 2010 is a while back, so I want to ask, does anyone have newer info/source on actual party membership? If not, I'll remove the category and personal details entry in a few days. I see that this information has been added and deleted in the past, so I think it'd be good to support any further additions on the subject with a source. Glimz (talk) 20:59, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
discreet resources
[edit]She set aside discreet resources? Is that the kind where you don't want anyone to know about them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.106.225.214 (talk) 13:50, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
Removal of New York Times citation
[edit]@Snooganssnoogans: Why was this citation removed? The update I made to the article was neutral in POV and pulled from this article: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/11/business/kristalina-georgieva-imf.html
How would you phrase the contents of the article and the announcement from the IMF regarding the investigation?
Also, I have no connection to the subjects or this article. I am trying to contribute and learn and I noticed this update was missing when I googled her after reading the NYT article.
