I have no resources to investigate, but I just encountered the word kra in two poems from or referencing West African culture. In both the kra seems to specifically represent the female spirit energy of the mother (or Mother). This doesn't add up with the entry here; it could be contradictory information, or it could be referencing West African cultures other than the Akan.
