What is alleged?

[edit]

Pablo1355, could you explain you edit? What is alleged? Why? It's unclear what the source you provided in this article is meant to cite, could you explain or give the quote from the reference? I can't find anything controversial or debated in the reference related to the Kourkouas family, please also answer for the edits in John I Tzimiskes. - Kevo327 (talk) 18:38, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Armenian origins of the Kourkoutas family is "alleged" like that of many others, if you have not been able to find such controversies then you ain't looking deep enough, Kalldelis also refers to such presumptions very carefully in his book Romanland. The source you added shows quite the opposite, with the only mention of the Kourkouas family the following on page 354, lines 1-4 where the Battle at the Acheloos ended with another Byzantine defeat. He then executed further campaigns at the Eastern border; his greatest success was the conquest of Melitene in 934 together with Ioannes Kourkouas, equally of Armenian origin.107 the aforementioned Ioannes is the the second John mentioned in this article, Ironically, I didn't have to look deeply to find your claim to be seemingly false, please do provide a link or a full reference of Kalldelis' book so I can check that as well. - Kevo327 (talk) 21:37, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The source provided clearly mentions the false premise of a conscious Armenian elite within the Byzantine social scales, said narrative also applies to Byzantine noble families of which I can provide another source if the case requires it, there is nothing more false than the malicious intention of some not to clarify this matter.
