Verbs which act like adjectives
[edit]Removed:
- Unlike English adjectives, however, Korean stative verbs don't require a copula. They are not modifiers of nouns, and they are never followed by nouns.
Unless I'm mixed up about what a copula is, the above sentence is dead wrong: it's just the opposite:
- Like English adjectives, Korean descriptive verbs modify nouns. They may either be followed by nouns (the big book 큰 책) or be part of a subject-predicate clause (the book is big 책이 커요).
This article needed to be expanded
[edit]This article looked like little more than a translation of the Korean Wikipedia page on verbs. Compared to the articles on verbs in other languages, it was a little lacking, so I tried to paste together something more substantial from bits of other articles, mostly the Korean grammar page. I know there's a lot wrong with the formatting, and probably a lot of typos, but I think this is a good framework to build on. I'll try to gradually add more original material and citations as I find the time to dig through my Korean reference books. JohnDavidWard (talk) 05:13, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
