English Korea Tae Kwon Do Association Site
[edit]Appears to cause browser problems and has overly hefty java implementations. Recommend this link be removed until they take the time to fix their website, otherwise link can cause browser to crash. User5802 05:58, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
I have changed the link to a less resource-hungry page on that same site. Janggeom (talk) 00:11, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
There have been no Dan issued by KTA since April of 1980.

- Thank you for your contributions but you need to supply references/sources to support your changes, not just claim a position in real life. Also, your editing needs to follow correct Wikipedia formatting otherwise you will cause an error on the page (as has just happened). Please see help:contents. Feel welcome to post any questions about these issues here. Thank you. Janggeom (talk) 15:17, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit]As noted earlier in discussion on this page, please make sure that your edits need to follow Wikipedia formatting otherwise you will cause errors on the page. The page now shows an error message because of your editing. Please see help:contents before you edit any further. A second point is that you have changed the spelling again from "Taekwon-Do" to "Tae Kwon Do" when the cited source (Park, 1993) uses the first spelling. Your edit is making it look like the source is using the second spelling, which it is not. If you are providing an alternate source to support the alternate spelling, it needs to be cited as such. If you have any questions, feel welcome to post them on this page. Thank you. Janggeom (talk) 14:54, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Looking at your edits more carefully, I see the following issues:
- Your reference "A Modern History of Taekwondo by Kyong Myung Lee and Kang Won Sik" does not provide the publication year, publisher's name, or publisher's location.
- Your addition "'We have not issued any Dan since April of 1980' quote from the Korea Taekwondo Association" is not a verifiable reference. Anyone could add a statement like that and append 'quote from the Korea Taekwondo Association.'
- Your addition "All of the early Kwan founders and leaders considered Hong Hi Choi to be an ego maniac and crazy when he first tried to claim he was the founder of Taekwondo, according to Oh Do Kwan member LEE, Baek Hoon in his book: Taekwondo and War, he was one of the first to sent to Veitnam by Hong Hi Choi" fails to provide sufficient reference information (as in the first bullet point above). It might also constitute a violation of Wikipedia's neutrality policy.
- There are several spelling errors in your additions. Please take care when editing.
Thank you. Janggeom (talk) 15:18, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Please be warned that further disruptive editing may constitute vandalism, so please take the time to read the feedback on this page and check that your additions follow Wikipedia policy (and correct Wikipedia page formatting). Thank you. Janggeom (talk) 15:28, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Editing and citing sources correctly
[edit]If the text in an article says "A B C [reference 1]" (where reference 1 explicitly supports "A," "B," and "C"), then editing the text to say "A B C D [reference 1]" (where the reference does not explicitly support "D") is, at best, sloppy editing. Please take care when editing the article; see Wikipedia's guide to citing sources. Thank you. Janggeom (talk) 05:27, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
The Korea Taekwondo Association (KTA) was never wrote Taekwondo in English as Taekwon-Do, according to the KTA. The reference listed is not credible. We can however look directly at how the KTA wrote it back in the beginning. See this scan of an early KTA Dan certificate (belonged to Ernie Lieb) http://www.flickr.com/photos/grandmastercole/6301648712/
Taekwon-Do should be removed in reference to the KTA. Masteralcole (talk) 06:48, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
