Kopek → Kopeck – Per WP:COMMONNAME "kopeck" is by far the most common spelling in English, TheCurrencyGuy (talk) 03:35, 12 September 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 05:23, 19 September 2022 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Dr. Vogel (talk) 17:59, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
- Based off of NGRAMS of American and British English, the two spellings appear to be used about the same amount. As such, I don't really think there is a WP:COMMONNAME of this (w.r.t. spelling) and I'm contesting this request along the lines of MOS:RETAIN w.r.t. spelling. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 05:43, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
- A simple Google search reveals that the word "kopek" refers also to things other than Slavic coins: including a security company, a Turkish film and a pet accessory company. If one peruses relevant and reliable source websites, such as Goznak, the Russian state mint, "kopeck" is the preferred spelling. TheCurrencyGuy (talk) 10:12, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
- TheCurrencyGuy This should probably go to a full WP:RM. (I'm personally neutral on the naming.) -Kj cheetham (talk) 14:20, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

- Mild support Kopeck is the headword term in Collins,[1] Random House,[2] and Merriam-Webster[3] dictionaries, although kopek is in Oxford (all also have copeck). Google Ngram[4] does seem to support the move too (and mentions of some pet company are not a significant part of the corpus). —Michael Z. 18:02, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- Mild support per Michael Z. Seems the best solution. Originoa (talk) 06:09, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. Where's the evidence that kopeck is the commoner spelling? -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:20, 21 September 2022 (UTC)
