E.III or not to E.III
[edit]This is an Idflieg desigantion assigned to military aircraft produced to order, and is not a company designation, though the company MAY have used E.3 as its own designation, but E.III is certainly correct for those aircraft that were delivered before the armistice.--Petebutt (talk) 00:56, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
- The Iflieg designation was D.1 according to Green & Swanborough; the military E specifically for monoplanes had bee dropped by autumn 1918, I think, and the standard D for fighters used for all. This MAY be the origin of the uncertainty.TSRL (talk) 09:29, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
