Any objection?
[edit]This article is important for south Indian history. I request you all to move the surname contents to Konadu (surname). I hope my concern will reach you asap.
@Ingenuity Consider this request. It'll be helpful.
@Blaze_Wolf If you have any objection for the relocation request, you may reveal here. I'll do my best to make things meet your criteria.
Thank you. Rangasecular (talk) 15:03, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- Are we sure that the historical place is the primary topic over the surnames? I'm not so sure. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:05, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- I understand your points. But Konadu (surname) will fit for the surnames of konadu. Because it's dynamic, the new names will be added by someone in the future. The konadu is being a region for historical sources. It connected with many south indian articles. That's why I'm asking you all. Rangasecular (talk) 15:12, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- Again, is the historical region the primary topic over the surnames? We don't just move articles to a different name because they might fit better. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:15, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- Lol. Bro, Konadu (surname) is just like Cruise (name). But konadu it's not like that. It linked with many historical and places related articles.
- Examples:
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idangazhi - He was ruler of this region. Now this region called as pudhukottai.
- https://pudukkottai.nic.in/history/ - Government site says konadu was half of the region of present day pudhukottai. Rangasecular (talk) 15:26, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- Yes but you've just contradicted yourself. In the example above, the primary topic is cruise (well, technically that's a disambig page because there's no clear primary topic but my point still stands) which is why Cruise (name) is located where it is. I suggest you actually read WP:PRIMARYTOPIC before trying to disprove me further so that you know what I am talking about. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:31, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- "There are no absolute rules for determining whether a primary topic exists and what it is; decisions are made by discussion among editors, often as a result of a requested move." - Wikipedia:PRIMARYTOPIC
- I'm just requesting. I don't need to disprove you. If you have any better suggestions, feel free to tell me. Rangasecular (talk) 15:37, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, but above that it provides examples of what is commonly used to determine a primary topic. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:40, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- That's what I do right now. If I create new article for konadu, this link page will become disambig for both pages. But I don't want this. I'm just requesting you all. Rangasecular (talk) 15:43, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- History is primary topic over list of surnames. Rangasecular (talk) 15:45, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- Also, it's just a list of names which is associated with the konadu surname. It doesn't even contain a valuable information. Do you think it should be primary instead of valuable information? Rangasecular (talk) 15:54, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
