Wikipedia:Verifiability
[edit]According to WP:V:
1. Articles should contain only material that has been published by reputable sources.
2. Editors adding new material to an article should cite a reputable source, or it may be removed by any editor.
3. The obligation to provide a reputable source lies with the editors wishing to include the material, not on those seeking to remove it.
I am challenging the unsourced material of this article. Please include references and sources and link them to the relevant material. If not, anyone - including I - can remove anything and everything unsourced from the article. This according to the official policy of Wikipedia which falls under WP:V. --Candide, or Optimism 22:41, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- The source is the comics and tv episodes she appears in...which is what the article is about. --InShaneee 22:45, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Marv Wolfman quote
[edit]In reading the wikipedia article about Women in Refrigerators, I came across this quote from Marv Wolfman about his creation Kole. In it he's referring to a list made by Gail Simone about the appearingly unbalanced number of female to male ratio in terms of comic book death body count:
"Of the list I killed only two, and two were created to die (Terra and Kole) though Kole was, in retrospect, a mistake which I did because other writers complained we weren't killing off any of my characters in Crisis, and if I wanted their characters to die I had to kill one of mine."
This could help lead to the understanding of why Kole's status as alive, dead, or undead is left so uncertain. Like Donna Troy it could be plausible that a sort of undead version of Kole (perhaps one who became the embodiment of her crystaline powers in some way) remembers her life pre & post crisis, and may have experienced many adventures offpanel. These adventures may be much like that of Deadman's, who reportedly has even met the deceased Kara post-crisis briefly. Particularly versatile and crafty writers of the future may even be able to discern from a list of unfairly treated characters in comic book history, and build a super group of characters whose predominant commonality being that the world from which they belong is no more, and they're existing outside current continuity. Of course. All this would be sadly speculation currently. I've no idea where Marv's words could fit in Kole's article, but hopefully someone after me will find a way to fit them in as I feel they're germaine to the topic. ZachsMind 16:49, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Kole.JPEG
[edit]Image:Kole.JPEG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
