[edit]What should we do to improve this article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nkimpe (talk • contribs) 03:51, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
The Drug Problem at Klein Oak HS Should Not Be Tolerated.
[edit]Klein Oak is currently widely known in the community to be Graduating Drug Addicts with no Regret or Concern. Graduating football players have signed letters of intent with colleges such as OU, and CAN NOT pass drug tests.
The Klein Oak community should stop turning a deaf ear and a blind eye to the drug problem that is over taking our high school.
As a parent in the community, with a natural and legal right to send my children to a public school in a safe environment, I expect more of my school system and my community.
I do not stand alone in this opinion. I know other parents in this community want the same for their students. I know some of the administration would like to make a difference in a young individuals life and actually carry out the intentions they held when attending college and dreaming of making the difference.
You may find yourself standing alone for what is right - however you will never find yourself standing in a line up.— Preceding unsigned comment added by KleinOakParent (talk • contribs) 22:32, December 27, 2010 (UTC)
- As much as I appreciate your concern for the integrity of Klein Oak's athletics and the general environment of the school, Wikipedia is not the right place for addressing this problem. We respect your right to be concerned for the education and personal formation of the student body, but it is clearly stated above that this talk page is not a soapbox, nor is it a forum for discussing the topic of the article either. If you find the atmosphere of the school detrimental and substance-ridden, you may direct your concerns to the school itself by contacting the administration or the Parent-Teacher Organization -- you must have support, since, after all, you say you do not stand alone in your opinion. In the future, however, please refrain from making further use of this article and its Talk page to draw attention to the supposed drug problem. Thank you. Edits to the "Subjects Offered" Section
[edit]The section listing all of the courses offered at the AP and PreAP levels at the school was getting cumbersome. Not only was it long-winded and lengthened the page considerably and unnecessarily (resulting in, well, a lot of scrolling), but it also included some obsolete courses no longer offered at the school, such as PreAP World History or French V Honors (recent school policy was passed, eliminating all level-5H courses and leaving only AP level language classes).
I made an edit where I organized all PreAP and AP classes into a chart with columns, in a way so that the scrolling was quicker and the article as a whole was easier on the eyes. I transfered the ones already listed and deleted the courses that I know for sure are no longer offered at the school. Additionally, I made sure to include some courses that had been left out--either because of their recent institution or other reasons (AP Human Geo, etc.).
Feel free to discuss and/or revert the changes I made if you don't think it's a necessary or proper improvement on the article. Thank you.
