Hot Mess
[edit]Yes it's a hot mess for the observatories. They really like being up there all by themselves without inconvenient guests. That would be you and me.
They have used the Contreras Fire, long ago, to keep us away. Having been on a guardrail crew in my first ever job, I can say that whatever the damage was to AZ 389, we kids could have cleared it all up in a couple of weeks. That's from someone who has been up and down Kitt Peak more than a dozen times.
The real losers in all of this are the owners of Kitt Peak, the Tohono O'odam Nation. Their jobs at the visitor center, and the loss of the sale of their indigenous art there, are gone. 71.67.162.6 (talk) 04:12, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
