recent photos to consider

[edit]

Hi everyone! Recently had a chance to spend a day skiing at Kirkwood and captured two images (uploaded) of the resort. Would someone consider adding these to the page?

One is of the Thimble Peak in heavy snowfall - https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Heavy_snow_falling_near_Thimble_Peak_Kirkwood.jpg

The second is the Iron Horse lift on the backside of the mountain - https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ski_lift_at_Kirkwood_Mountain_Resort.jpg

green info edit war?

[edit]

Lets not start an undo war here. this is not a forum for advertisement of the resort. any and all edits i've done come from continued employment with kirkwood and are based on personal involvement, observation and interviews with other staff. I helped dig up 90 yards of dirt from said diesel spill and personally took delivery of 2 of the new 4 cycle snowmobiles. Mr walker, mr weber, and mr reed replaced over 500 lighting fixtures and balasts during the summer of 2007, that save aprox 250kwh/day in the valley.

Before you start reverting edits, try a little research yourself. 70.41.252.186 (talk) 15:48, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Green info. I deleted it again. If authors have verifiable citations with accurate information please feel free to post it. News articles, regulatory permits, environmental citations are all fair game, but lets stop the posting of what you think you know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cirquerider (talkcontribs) 17:17, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Still up to date?

[edit]

"Kirkwood Mountain Resort is one of the more recent ski resorts to open in the Lake Tahoe region" - these kinds of phrases tend to expire quite quickly. Consider mentioning the exact opening date rather than a period of time based on when this was published. Eg "Kirkwood Mountain Resort is a ski resort that opened in the Lake Tahoe region in XXXX" JLNWriter (talk) 16:26, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Related: "Two new surface tows were introduced at Kirkwood during the 2008-2009 season to provide skiers and snowboarders with greater access to terrain along Vista Ridge and Fawn Ridge." Is the Fawn Ridge part of this a reference to the poma (maybe lift #15?) accessible from chair 4 (sunrise) up Covered Wagon from roughly Devil's Draw? That was taken down several years ago. I don't know whether this would be considered definitive: https://skimap.org/skiareas/view/537, but it looks like gone from the 2018 map onwards. Bhanafee (talk) 16:56, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
