Disputed - everything
[edit]I chanced upon this, looking for the first year's production of A65 which I think was 1963. The BSA A65 was a series of factory-produced 650 cc motorcycles, until BSA's demise perhaps 1971.
I should have contemporaneous (ie., actual period) expert sources in the house but wanted an expedient, now I have to waste much time on his fiction, created by altering a long-standing redirect.
Tagged as {{Disputed}} entirely misleading article, wrongly-named, weak (deprecated) sources are known as scraper sites, obtaining non-reliable information from other presences including internet, which they present as their own; this article appears to depict a 1960s one-off racer being campaigned by re-enactors.
Davism0703 please sort this mess; if you don't know how, please contact an admin. Thank you. 82.13.47.210 (talk) 20:41, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
- It seems like there's a BSA A65 Star and this sidecar. Perhaps the sidecar article should be renamed and tagged for better sources, and BSA A65 should be a disambiguation page. ☆ Bri (talk) 22:00, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
- I agree the sources are unreliable. Although the A65 engine was used in sidecar racing in this period, the engine was fitted in various frames/chassis so there is no 'standard' A65 sidecar racing machines. I doubt if the article would survive an AfD. Overwriting to create a DAB page seems the best option to me. --John B123 (talk) 22:38, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks Bri and John B123 - I hope you are both well and warm (I know one of you will be warmer than the other . I chanced upon some recent pics of Orihuela, never heard of it but looked nice). I forgot to come here (rookie error!) but dropped in at Project Talk and article history, then after thinking about it was intending to add a RM template, suggesting renaming this as Kirby BSA sidecar oufit, restoring the BSA A65 to a redirect landing at a new article, List of BSA A65 motorcycles. Dab is better, though, and BSA unit twins is very detailed and structured, populating the dab also with blue individual entries, shown as an un-ordered bulleted list here:This Google search returns mainly historic Kirby BSA sidecar pics, but the motor museum website is worthwhile so added it and I've expanded a bit with a period mag ref; I don't think it's bad enough to consign into page history, and the author's put a lot of work/formatting into it. I can't find anything specific to the outfit in the house. rgds, --82.13.47.210 (talk) 23:27, 14 January 2024 (UTC) (Rocknrollmancer #nolongerloggingin).
- Hi Rocknrollmancer, hope all is well with you. Warm enough here daytimes to walk around in a t shirt but you need a coat at night. Never been to Orihuela, its about 450 km from me.

- Thanks both, I'll keep my eyes open in case I chance upon anything to add to th'article.--82.13.47.210 (talk) 22:24, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
- Apologies for the misspelling in the title I proposed causing you to make another move (oufit -> outfit) - I only have one working computer which crashed and when recovered had several keyboard characters missing, so I'm using he virual (the virtual) pop up keboard (keyboard) that comes with Windows, takes twice as long. Sometimes I still miss when correcting, which is why one shouldn't perform one's own proof reading. The battery is shot (£65 for genuine Dell), and now the power port is loosening and it's running too hot as is on mains all the time. I have a lot of research and images on it, so don't want a reset, need to get a new one. I don't use cloud for image storage.--82.13.47.210 (talk) 01:04, 16 January 2024 (UTC)

Destroyed in fire
[edit]Just found this defunct WP:SPS at Wayback asserting total loss in 2003 fire. 82.13.47.210 (talk) 02:53, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
A viable SPS with copious text, immediate post-fire and rebuild images can be found here; also identified it appeared in/on cover of Classic Bike, April/May 1981, p.3 (small editorial, index page) (Magazine Collector website) and feature starting at p.33, ebay uk listing, Everybody kneel, per WP:SAYWHEREYOUGOTIT.--82.13.47.210 (talk) 22:32, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
