Wiki is not a Advert

[edit]

This page is written as if it were an advert for KWC probably because a member of staff has been tasked with writing the page. Please stop using doing this: "fondly known as KWC and to other locals as King Bill's" In less of course you can cite a source that states it is fondly known as KWC. Living on the island the general impression is that there is very little fondness toward the school at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.88.165.60 (talk) 09:40, 10 January 2009 (UTC) [reply]

Yeah wikipedia isn't an advert, most websites have adverts for things like KFC at the side but there's nun of that on Wikipedia. 217.28.7.185 (talk) 19:38, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not once in my 492 lives have I seen an advert in Wikipedia for KFC, so rest your complaints. 92.39.200.37 (talk) 19:10, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

KFC you say. There is a page on KFC but it is chicken. Also a shop that sells chicken. Also they only sell chicken. 178.16.7.211 (talk) 20:27, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is worth expanding

[edit]

In a recent visit to the Isle I saw the college, but only from the road on my way to Castletown. I don't know much about it, but if it's been around since the seventeenth century, surely more could be written; as it stands, the article isn't really about the college but about some peripheral subjects, like the test, the description of the crest, etc. What does the college do? Is it known for any fields? What is its history like? Now I wish I had paid the campus a visit, it did look nice from afar. Furthermore, the college website says it was founded in 1833; that's not what this article says. Which is correct?Baronplantagenet 03:52, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah there's a banner at the top of this page that says the article is a stub. It should be expanded, just like the universe expands, except virtually. 217.28.7.185 (talk) 19:39, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes of course, everyone should feel free to expand for eternity, except if you expand too much the article will become overloaded; but for now it is of stable size. 92.39.200.37 (talk) 19:10, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You should expand this article because it will have make it more interesting. I know that the article needs more things in it for the expand to happen, yet there must not be any information of no use, this includes adding what food they sell there (this is of NO USE) and it has been tried to added to the article before which is terrifying. I don't know how to make an information so reliable and good that it is not unreliable, but someone should. Let me be so very clear as not to confuse, there is a big problem with the nonsensical information, yet this will be fixing. Please expand with the source of the reliable, not the useless (NO USE). Please say sorry for my terrible English! I love Wikipedia so mush. 46.226.188.55 (talk) 22:29, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Scire ubi aliquid invenire possis, ea demum maxima pars eruditionis est"

[edit]

...which translates as: "To know where anything can be found is, after all, the greatest part of erudition." - this should be Wikipedia's motto. Ironically a lot of the 2007 quiz can be answered by simple searches in Wp or if you get stuck there a google which almost invariably turns a Wp article in the first SERP. Albatross2147 (talk) 02:06, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ironically as someone who does the quiz every year, I know it cannot be answered by simple searches on Wikipedia, or Google or easily at all, Although resrach is greatly aided by both (and my Local Library). every year people claim this and if they are asked how many questions they have answered they always reply none or only a couple, which is how many I get just by reading the questions ...! lɘɘяɘM яɘɫƨɐƮ 09:09, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What's this got to do with this collage, does the collage have a quiz? 217.28.7.185 (talk) 19:43, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No he didn't say it did. He's just talking about something else on this page. As the first header says "Wikipedia Is Not An Advert" this is the complete opposite. 92.39.200.37 (talk) 19:10, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't know wikipedia had a quiz, when is it on? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.39.206.250 (talk) 01:45, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Scores

[edit]

The high scores for the second sitting of the test cannot be 270 out of 360 as there are only 180 questions in total each year! 2A00:23CC:D214:101:D114:EEFB:C3A9:8535 (talk) 02:09, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
