Radical departures from Biblical story
[edit]- Previous versions of this article discussed how the movie completely changes the story of David from what the Bible tells. In the Bible, David feigns insanity to escape from Achish, King of Gath. In the movie, David feigns insanity to gain admittance to the presence of Achish. The story has been turned upside down. In the Bible, David is banned from building the Temple because he has shed too much blood. In the movie, it is because he has not shed enough blood. He has made no effort to exterminate the Canaanites. And so on throughout the movie. The story is in every case the opposite of what the Bible says. Das Baz, aka Erudil 17:46, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
