King's Garden (Silwan)Al-Bustan (East Jerusalem) – This is an article about Al-Bustan, a Palestinian neighbourhood in the Silwan area of East Jerusalem, that is subject to an attempted forced displacement by the Israeli authorities with the aim of creating a park named the "King's Garden" in homage to something biblical. Numerically "Al-Bustan+Silwan" draws 42,000 hits in a google search versus 1,500 hits for "King's Garden" + Silwan; however, the more obvious point to make is that simply planning to redevelop a location does not automatically make that place someplace else - that just makes it the name of a redevelopment scheme. As this report: "The "King's Garden" Plan in Al-Bustan" correctly phrases it - the 'King's Garden' would be better described as being IN Al-Bustan. B'Tselem calls the development plan 'a tourist park' in the Al-Bustan Neighbourhood [1]. Again, a development within an area does not that area rename. Instead, the logical semantic structuring of this (were we to structure it) would be: King's Garden (proposed development), Al-Bustan, Silwan, East Jerusalem, but Wikipedia is also not a crystal ball (WP:CRYSTALBALL), and we don't create articles about things that may or may not exist in the future. Shouldn't it be Al-Bustan (Silwan) ? Selfstudier (talk) 12:15, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure on that count - I'm a bit sketchy on the location disambiguation rules, but Jerusalem is more recognizable than Silwan, so I thought it would make for a slightly more reader-friendly disambiguator. The other Al-Bustans are disambiguated at a country level, i.e.: Al Bustan, Oman, Al Bustan, Saudi Arabia and Al-Bustan, Syria, but that would probably cause more issues than it solves here. Again, there may well be a guideline on local district-level locations that says it needs to work upwards in more discrete increments - if so, happy to be pointed in the right direction. But ultimately, I'm actually fairly easy either way. Iskandar323 (talk) 12:25, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My reading of WP:PLACEDAB is that the general advice is start at the top (country) level, and work down from there if the country is still problematic for disambiguation. Iskandar323 (talk) 12:30, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
At AB disambig, there was there a KG (Jeru) which I just changed to KG (hist). There are two relevant disambigs, KG disambig as well are you going to do anything with KG (hist)? Selfstudier (talk) 12:30, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that page should probably just be King's Garden (biblical place), since that article more than anything appears to speak to the biblical concept and its theory. Iskandar323 (talk) 12:37, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK, well, I would prefer Silwan or on your alternate theory, Palestine -> East Jerusalem. Selfstudier (talk) 12:41, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, sold. I'll just tweak and collapse, since the discussion is just between us at this point. Iskandar323 (talk) 12:55, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Support More logical fix up of prior dispute. Selfstudier (talk) 12:56, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
