Re-creation of article
[edit]This article was Speedied under CSDA7 in November last year, however that was an entirely erroneous deletion. That criterion is for things which do not assert notability, and this article asserts notability in the following ways:
- Consensus has been established that any and all ESC entries are notable. Overturning this consensus should not be done unilaterally and by CSD, but rather through AfD channels in order to examine whether the consensus has changed.
- As this was Hungary's debut entry, this is a "notable first" both for the country and the language (Hungarian) involved.
- The song placed very highly - 4th out of 25.
- The fact that it led the voting after three rounds only to fade is a piece of "Eurovision lore". I believe, although I don't have the facts readily to hand right at the moment, that it is the best opening to the voting by a song which would not win.
- The performance of this entry, along with the Polish one to which it is referenced, represent the first successes of the former Eastern Bloc states in the Contest. The overwhelming majority of successful entrants in the last 5-8 years have come from behind the former Iron Curtain, and thus this represents the first time that a notable trend was present. Plus it's a beautiful, gut-wrenching song, wonderfully performed by Friderika. :-) FilipeS (talk) 18:42, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Incorrect translation
[edit]The translation of the title is incorrect, because "Whom CAN I tell my sins?" is "Kinek mondhatom el vétkeimet?" in Hungarian, it would be "Whom SHALL I tell my sins?" correctly translated to English. Adam bozso (talk) 02:34, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
