- Kinderhook Industries , as reported by Bloomburg Business "is a private equity firm specializing in emerging growth, mid-cap buyouts, later stage, mature, growth capital, industry consolidation, recapitalization, and middle market investments.". The company has been aggressive in acquiring, in whole or in partnership, many companies that includes what was formally Stafford Logistics, Inc., and Stafford Transport, both a subsidy of Stafford Logistics Holdings Inc., doing business as Custom Ecology, Inc. (CEI), out of Mableton, Georgia, and operating in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia, Mississippi, Michigan, Canada, as well as Georgia. CEI purchased First Tee Transport, LLC of Pinehurst, North Carolina, with facilities in North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia.
- Kinderhook LLC., and Magna International went into partnership to acquire Bestop. The company produces Jeep after market convertible tops, bikini tops, heavy duty bumpers, powered running boards, and truck tonneaus covers and caps.
- On May 16, 2007, Kinderhook Industries partnered with Soros Strategic Partners LP, affiliated with George Soros and Soros Fund Management LLC, to acquire a majority share of Mastro's Restaurants, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. The company included five restaurants under the name of Mastro’s Steakhouse and two fish house restaurants under the name "Mastro’s Ocean Club".
