Citizenship in lead paragraph

[edit]

User:KidAd: text prior to reversion is in accord with MOS:CONTEXTBIO:

  • "Ethnicity" is relevant: Subject is notable because she is the designated Cherokee Nation delegate to the US Congress; a Native American delegate to Congress is unprecedented because it is a Treaty right given solely to the Cherokee Nation and which has never been exercised until Teehee was designated
  • She is a Citizen of the Cherokee Nation (as well as a citizen of the United States) regardless of her ethnicity.
  • The fact that she is a CN Citizen and Native American are both important context which "American" does not capture
  • The fact that she is a CN Citizen is of greater import in this context than the fact that she is an American, because of the above

The article lead also already indicates that she is "from the Cherokee Nation." My edit merely streamlines and clarifies the text and context. Pyrocatch (talk) 20:41, 18 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
