Different Web sites give different locations for his birth: a French one gives Seoul, daum says "이름 : 김창열 출생 : 1929년 12월 24일 출신지 : 맹산 [Maengsan] 직업 : 판화가 학력 : 서울대학교 경력 : 프랑스 주드폼 미술관 회고전 박영덕화랑 개인전 대표작 : 물방울, 해체, 물방울의 형태, 물방울의 자욱 " Is our reference reliable?

Contested deletion

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because this article has been built up over a number of years, with references added along with the content. If you go back and look at earlier versions, you will see that it was not copied from the Boon site. I can't see a date on the Boon site, so I wonder if that site has copied the Wikipedia site. Maybe someone should check on this possibility. In any case, the artist is significant, and there should be a Wikipedia article on him. Kdammers (talk) 02:55, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The website it's copied from is not archived on the Wayback Machine, so there's no way to tell which came first. I'm not claiming that the article's subject isn't notable or that there shouldn't be an article on him; I'm claiming that there's a good chance it was copied wholesale from [1]. As I wrote, this article has been built up over a number of years, with documented changes. I had not looked at in a long time, so I don't know what's been done in the last few years. It is possible (and can be checked via a laborious stepping through of the history) that at some point a text dump was executed. But I'll try to contact Boon to ask them if they copied from Wikipedia. Kdammers (talk) 06:12, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I did notice that the Boon page has what seems to be the same photo as is on the cover of a book (Kim Tschang-Yeul (Beaux livres (AS)) Hardcover – March 3, 2020.

Hi, in fact it is the gallery the copied directly from the wikipedia article, and not the other way around.

Already restored, and not currently up for speedy deletion. AleatoryPonderings (???) (!!!) 20:30, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
