"citation needed" for Season 4 announcement, due to fan demand
This concerns the "citation needed" superscript in the Introduction, apparently inserted in response to the assertion that Season 4 (2007) was announced due to fan demand after Disney had originally planned to cancel the series at the end of Season 3 (2004-2006). I am parking a reputable-looking citation here in the 'Talk' section for now, until I can get around to inserting it into the references in the Main Article. Alternatively, anyone else is welcome to do that edit (I don't do these edits with sufficient frequency to have gained/retained much skill at it).
Philly.com, posted March 16, 2007, Superagent Kim Possible is back by popular demand, by Michael D. Schaffer (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER staff writer)
Elsewhere it was reported that Disney made this announcement - that Season 4 would happen after all - on November 29, 2005, and in so doing broke their (now long-discontinued) rule that no show can go beyond 65 episodes (the 65th Episode Rule). I could find no citations from reputable media sources for any of this, only fan-created sites like this Kim Possible wiki (see 4th paragraph under the Premise section). I'll take this one. First comments: Reference 84 is dead, and Reference 98 links to an unrelated page. No copyright violations detected. JerrySa1 (talk) 16:31, 26 December 2016 (UTC)
I have a couple of comments after a quick read.
- "the majority of their missions require them to thwart the evil plans of Dr. Drakken and his sidekick Shego, a relentless mad scientist and supervillain duo, but Kim and Ron occasionally encounter other enemies as well." The wording for this seems odd, may need some reworking.
- Any suggestions as to how it SHOULD sound? How about "Known collectively as Team Possible, the majority of Kim and Ron's missions require them to thwart the evil plans of mad scientist-supervillain duo Dr. Drakken and Shego, but they occasionally encounter other enemies as well."?--Changedforbetter (talk) 08:20, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, that's fine, the reason I didn't specify was because the entire sentence didn't make sense.
- Some of the "Characters" section goes too much into trivia, like "proficient in 17 different types of kung fu" and "potentially indicate that he suffers from agoraphobia."
- Removed aforementioned, as well as whatever else might seem similar.--Changedforbetter (talk) 08:20, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
- "The theme song became so popular among fans of both the show and Milian herself that several of them proceeded to download it as their own cell phone ringtones." This fact doesn't seem totally relevant.
- Show's the song's impact - moved to "Reception" perhaps?--Changedforbetter (talk) 08:20, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
- Crossover with Lilo and Stitch needs sources. JerrySa1 (talk) 23:44, 26 December 2016 (UTC)
- Cited.
- Source needed for Professor Dementor.
- Resolved, cited.--Changedforbetter (talk) 13:55, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- Reference 32 is some blog, 37 is possibly untrustworthy, and 26 is on the border.
- Resolved. Removed 32 and supported content; keeping latter two because both are actually reputable sources, the former an online media/television guide based in the country Georgia, and the latter a transcript of an interview by Schooley and McCorkle; the original article is no longer available online. However, the forum in which it has been posted is a recognized comic/entertainment website.--Changedforbetter (talk) 13:55, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- "Ron is painfully aware that he is the luckiest man in the world ... for landing Kim". Who said this, the villians, the creators?
- Resolved; added "according to Schooley".--Changedforbetter (talk) 13:55, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- 98 is redirected, my mistake, 84 is dead.
- Resolved. Removed 84 and content it was supporting (will be re-added if another source can be found); replaced 98 with archived URL.--Changedforbetter (talk) 13:55, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- "Not yet of age to drive herself to most of her missions, Kim often relies on favors from various people and friends she has assisted in the past for transportation." Is this relevant, or a common running gag?
- I'd say the character's method of transportation is an important part of the series' premise.--Changedforbetter (talk) 13:57, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- Is the fact that she has a theme park ride worthy of it's own subsection? It should stay, but probably merged under another section like for an other media section or something.
- Resolved, added "Related media" section.
- Does cancelled need to be wikilinked?
- Resolved, unlinked.--Changedforbetter (talk) 13:55, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- lead is fine, though "Kim Possible won one, for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing - Live Action and Animation, in 2005. Lasting four seasons and 87 episodes, Kim Possible..." is a bit repetitive.
- Resolved, replaced second "Kim Possible" with "thes shoe".--Changedforbetter (talk) 13:55, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- Video games section, em dashes aren't spaced. JerrySa1 (talk) 00:43, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- Resolved.--Changedforbetter (talk) 14:20, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- "experienced some opportunities to record together", remove "some", it's redundant, also remove examples like "oversaw the show for its entire duration in order to maintain consistency.". "required to produce 18 different mole rat sound effects.", of course other a few minor examples like that, this article is probably ready. JerrySa1 (talk) 01:00, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
- Resolved, as well as a few other similar examples scattered throughout. Final verdict?--Changedforbetter (talk) 04:49, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm Passing this article. It seems concise, no dead links, everything's cited and npov. JerrySa1 (talk) 18:00, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
