Requested move 29 March 2023
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: not moved. Consensus that the "Kill Bill" title should point to an article about the duology of films. (non-admin closure) ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 14:56, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
– Currently the "Kill Bill" page redirects to the Volume 1 article. With respect to long-term significance, I doubt the first film has more pull than the other; when KB comes up in retrospective discussions of Tarantino's works, the discussions almost always refer to both films individually or both films as one unit. Now let's consider practicality. If people look up "wikipedia kill bill" on a search engine or type "Kill Bill" into the URL bar, we cannot assume that they already know a Volume 1 or a Volume 2 exist, let alone that "Kill Bill" refers to a duology. It is more understandable for a reader to find out Kill Bill can refer to both films instead of being redirected to the first film which can cause astonishment. For the cherry on top, the "Kill Bill" redirect is linked to a Wikidata item titled "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair". Elias 🌊 💬 "Will you call me?"

- Note 1:
had to remove the Kill Bill → Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair proposal from this request, because redirects are ineligible to be current titles in move requests. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 22:22, 29 March 2023 (UTC) - Note 2: since the Kill Bill redirect was restored to the series/franchise page, it must now be dispositioned, because otherwise it would be ineligible as a target/new title in this move request. "Kill Bill → ?" was added to this proposal this date to meet that requirement. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 13:15, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- Note 1:
- Oppose, and restore this version of the article, undoing a bold edit from 2018. I don't see a compelling reason to have Volume 1 or The Whole Bloody Affair as the target of a primary redirect. 162 etc. (talk) 18:02, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose. I dont think this is astonishing? We assume that anyone typing Kill Bill most likely wants a movie. Well, this article makes it pretty clear that there is a part two, so there is no shock. The article 162 etc. links to me seems a bit redundant, so I do not support restoring it and making it the target. Any info on sequel can be covered in the movie articles, so it is a pretty useless article, I have my doubts it would be kept if nominated for deletion... --Quiz shows 23:33, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose, per those above. I do like the idea of treating these like one film in two parts. BD2412 T 01:50, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
- Comment maybe a series/franchise page should be made at the base name, I think of both movies as Kill Bill.--Ortizesp (talk) 05:31, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose per common name and the fact that the two parts are actually one film. Randy Kryn (talk) 11:27, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose Per others. I have also restored the series/franchise page as it was unilaterally redirected by a single editor. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 10:46, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

[edit]The Kill Bill article was deleted per this July 2023 discussion, then re-created as a primary redirect to Kill Bill: Volume 1. 162 etc. (talk) 23:53, 7 January 2024 (UTC)
