Name correspondance

[edit]

There seems to be some confusion on the correspondance between these ships' former names and current names. Can someone verify and/or provide a link to how they are named? I have always assumed Kidd-->Kee Lung, Callaghan-->Su Au, Scott-->Tso Ying, and Chandler-->Ma Kong --Will74205 16:57, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I received a message from Hydonsingore saying that he had sent e-mail to the ROCN General Headquarter and received a reply that confirmed Kee Lung was formerlly Scott and Kidd will become Tso Ying. Here is the link of the reply http://www.flickr.com/photos/51744539@N00/82378438/ , it is in Chinese though. --Will74205 17:18, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Refurbished before sale?

[edit]

I'm looking for information about where these ships were refurbished prior to their sale to Taiwan. Any info is appreciated.

ASROC launcher on Kidd class DDGs????

[edit]

Why does all the Kidd class each ship's page always list ASROC launcher is on board? Already corrected all the Taiwanese part, but too tired to fix those US ships pages.....Bryan TMF (talk) 20:50, 25 November 2010 (UTC) Agree - NO ASROC launcher on the class. However they do originally have the ability to launch ASROCs from the MK 26 launcher (known fact) . I doubt the Taiwan purchased any ASROC weapons for these vessels. I do not know about magazine arrangement for a Mk 36 capable of Launching VLA- could ship load out fully with SM missiles instead, or are some storage locations specific and only able to handle ASROC. ASROC rockets were sold to the ROC. Simple googling can confirm this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6C5E:2180:7D9:3046:CD43:F417:BD16 (talk) 22:58, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In movie <Pearl harbor>....

[edit]

Those destroyers featured in Pearl Harbor were not Kidd class destroyers. They were Spruance-class destroyers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.118.205.190 (talk) 20:36, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

What is with the "Tentative Iranian Names"?

[edit]

There appears to be a tentative Iranian name given for each ship, but no explanation of that in the text. 71.175.171.163 (talk) 00:40, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
