[edit]Khorassani Turls are nthing more than the Turkmens. This article is redundant with Iranian Turkmens... How can this be fixed?
- I'd not agree. It i separate ethnic group, but yet related to Turkmen people. Please, see Khorasani Turkic language. Bests, Ali-al-Bakuvi (talk) 13:34, 16 May 2014 (UTC)
- First of all not Turls but Turks secondly page name can be changed as Khorasani Turkics Cengizsogutlu (talk) 21:20, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
- This article lists Nader Shah as a Khorasani Turk. The Iranian Turkmen article also lists Nader Shah as a Turkmen. But the source that this article cites to claim Nader Shah as a Khorasani Turk itself says he is a Turkmen. There appear to be two possibilities. First, Nader Shah should be removed from this page, because he is not actually a Khorasani Turk. Second, Khorasani Turks are essentially the same as Iranian Turkmen. Where are the trustworthy English sources saying that these are two different ethnic groups? Gvros8 (talk) 20:12, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Nader Shah was of the Qereqlu branch of the Afshar tribe. The Afshar tribe is not native to the area, they were deported by the Safavids from Urmia to Northern Khorasan to defend against Turkmen raids. Many of the Khorasani Turks are turkic and qizilbash tribes from Azerbaijan that were deported to Khorasan. Others settled there in the Medieval area and evolved separately from the Turkmen. Although they had the same origin they evolved so that their customs and culture are different. [1], read this for more info. Finally the last difference I want to bring up is that the Khorasani Turks are Shia, the Turkmen are mainly Sunni. Kailanmapper (talk) 20:42, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Map Section
[edit]I added the map showing Turkic people living in Iran's North Khorasan and Razavi Khorasan provinces. It was based on Dr.Papoli Yazdi work Persian (فصلنامه تحقیقات جغرافیایی، سال سوم شماره 2 ، پاییز 1376، دکتر محمد حسین پاپلی یزدی ) Geographical Research Quarterly, Third Year No. 2, Fall 1997, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Papli Yazdi). In addition, as evidence of where the Turkic people living in the region, I have cited about a dozen academic sources. These articles have been reverted with a false claim that the name Khorasani Turks does not appear. I advised the editor who reverted to use ctrl + F if he has no intention of doing it, or have a trouble seeing recommended to look at an ophthalmologist as a friendly request. The detailed information of ethnic people in Iran is still being erased with different excuses. They even reported me, saying that I personally insulted them so it was cool way in order to take the matter elsewhere. The accuracy of this map, apart from academic citations, there is also a wikipedia article Ethnicities in Iran. The map I have put here is a zoomed-in and detailed version of this map. Deletion of this information is definitely a matter of ulterior motives, even though I do cite so many sources.Cengizsogutlu (talk) 19:12, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
