Currently Not Fit for Publication
At this time, I do not believe that this article warrants its own entry on Wikipedia. Unless a subject matter expert on the topic is available to edit, there is simply not enough source material on the topic to substantiate the claims made in the current article. Until a subject matter expert can be found, I would suggest that the Khant just be entered as part of a subsection on allied groups in Rajput. See: "In addition to being divided into clans, the Rajputs are divided into two categories, the Rajput proper and the Girasia, who are known as Darbar in Saurashtra and Rajput in Kutch. In addition, there are also various allied groups such as the BavanGol , Gujjar , Karadia , Nadoda, Jinkara , Purbiya, Maiya and Khant, and Vantia." [1] JoLindaw (talk) 07:45, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
British Raj era sources
This edit, which has been added more than once by different accounts, includes numerous sources from the British Raj era. Such sources are not considered reliable for use on the English,Wikipedia, per longstanding consensus of the community. There are numerous reasons for this, some of which are noted generally at WP:HISTRS and others more specifically at User:Sitush/Common#CasteSources. The community reached its consensus at multiple venues, including WT:INB, WP:RSN, WP:ANI and various caste article talk pages.
You're welcome to try changing the consensus but use of the sources cannot be permitted until you succeed in that. - Sitush (talk) 12:50, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
People of India
Discussions at WP:RSN determined that we should avoid using the "states" series of The People of India, which has been published in many parts over many years by many different outfits and with several different general editors. There were various reasons for this consensus, not least of them being that much of the "states" series is actually plagiarised from Raj era sources (see my prior post here today). However, the "national" series, published by the Oxford University Press and with Kumar Suresh Singh as its general editor, is considered to be reliable.
This article uses both a "national" and "states" series source. I can't see the latter at all at present and the former is only available to me via Google Books in snippet view. If anyone can see both and can verify that the India's Communities source supports all or anything we presently cite using the Gujarat book then please can they adjust the cites so that we do use the Communities version. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 13:21, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
Maldhari
The article currently categorises the community as Maldhari. I know that some Kolis are semi-nomadic, and we do say that some sources consider the Khants to be a branch of the Kolis, but nowhere do we say that the Khants are nomadic in any form. All we say is that they're involved with agriculture. Should the category exist here? - Sitush (talk) 13:41, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
